Hey family! How are you all? It sounds like it was a pretty good week, minus mom having the plague. Yep fun fact, I hit my six month mark this week... One year to go. These past six months have just flown by but at the same time I feel like I have been here forever. Denmark has come to feel like home. It was actually super fun today we ate lunch with our Swedish investigator and we were talking about culture differences between Denmark and Sweden and the USA. And the biggest difference is that people in the USA love to small talk and will just talk to anyone, like the people in grocery stores and cashiers and people there will just ask how they are doing and have small talk. That is not how it is in Sweden or Denmark. If you ask people on the buss how they are doing or where they are heading they will ask you why do you want to know. It is so funny. Sister Rovig and I have started trying to say 'Good day' (but in danish) to everyone we pass on the street and some people just look at us in shock and walk faster. I love Danish people, they are so funny :)
But this week has been pretty crazy with the whole not having a phone thing, we have had to borrow the ægtepar's phone a couple of times and the Elders so that we could get a hold of people and make appointments and everything. But we have been able to meet with our investigator who we met on the bus last week three times this week and he is SO positive! He came to church again and had a great time and he came to the young adults activity and had a great time there. He loves the bible and knows a lot about the stories in there and loves learning more. And our ward has just really loved him and welcomed him in. It has been amazing to see! I am so happy for him and the progress he has made.
So our whole LLAMA week for our Swedish investigator and his friend did not really go... We weren't able to get in contact with him the whole week because of the whole phone thing. So he pretty much just forgot. We finally saw him on Sunday and he was just like, 'I kind of pretty much failed the whole thing I prayed like two times...' So we are trying again but doing it with baby steps. He said last week he prayed twice, but that is two more times than he had been praying before and he didn't drink coffee and tried not to swear but he said he didn't do very good with that. So this week we made a calendar for him with scriptures to read and reminders to pray morning and night and to rate himself on the whole swearing thing. Hopefully that will go better and we are hopefully seeing him again on Friday.
Another really exciting thing from this week is we met with our one woman investigator! Yay! So there is this member in our ward and he is married to this lady who isn't a member and she has been investigating the church and meeting with missionaries for 23 years. Since I came here she has been sick and too tired to meet with us until this week and we met with her twice this week and the first lesson we had with her she basically told us not to push her and to move slowly and start from square one. So the second lesson we talked about how God is our loving Heavenly Father and that is it. It went pretty good we think and we are hopefully meeting with her again this next week.
This week we are also going to be focusing a lot on finding. Sister Rovig and I have made the goal to leave our area better than we found it and one of the ways we want to do that is by building the investigator pool and the potential investigator pool. So that is something we are going to work on a lot this week. I am way excited! There is so much potential here, Århus is going to just explode. :) Another thing that I have been way excited about here in Århus is how the member to missionary relations have improved just since I came here. The members are getting way excited about missionary work and meeting our investigators and inviting us to young womans or to other things. It is seriously just amazing.
Well I hope that you all have a really great week! I love you all lots!
