wow this week was busy and great! Lets look at it one day at a time!
Mandag: So I don't know if I have told you about the yellow fields here in Denmark but there are these huge fields of yellow flowers (which are beautiful) and they are probably up to my waist and something that every danish missionary has to do it take a picture in these yellow fields. So sister van orden and I had seen some by this lake and field and we thought we could get to it really easily. so we went out with the elders to go and find this yellow field well we got way close but it turn out this yellow field was seperated from the place we were by a lake that connected to the ocean so there was no way around it. But we got so close so we took a picture of us so close to this yellow field. But then sister van orden and I found one on the side of a road later in the week and took a picture with it. :) We also had the Århus sisters come to Horsens for splits and I got to be with Sister Landvatter! That was so much fun being with her, she is so amazing. So we taught our friends who come from Syria and it went SO good, so we got our hands on The Restoration video in Arabic so we were going to show them that but then it didn't work in their computer so we did an impromtu lesson about Christ and he told us how he loves Christ and wants to be christian because they all just love each other. It was so great.
Tirsdag: Sister Landvatter and I did service for a cute couple in our ward and then all four of us went to visit a member in the ward here who is just the sister missionaries' best friend and she was so excited to have so many sisters come and we sang Jeg er Guds Kære Barn (I am a child of God) for her and it was so fun!
Onsdag: Sister Van Orden and I backed our bags and biked out to a smaller city that is a good distance from Horsens and we just went and to find new friends and something we really focused on was offering service and it is amazing how much just the offer of service will soften people's hearts. We also saw this exemplified when we went over to visit this family we have been teaching, when we got there they were cleaning out their car so we helped them for a little bit and then we had one of the best lessons with them that we have in a really long time. Service is a great tool!
Torsdag: So our friend who we tried showing The Restoration too on Monday, we met with him again and this time we were able to show it to him and he and his wife loved it! They sat just riveted the whole time and after when we asked what they thought they said they believed that it had happened and wanted a Book of Mormon in Arabic. It was so exciting!
Fredag: We went on splits in Esbjerg! It was so fun, I was with Sister Mølholt is so cute and sweet. We stopped by a lot of really great people who they are working with and had a chance to contact a lot of people and talk to some nice people. It was so great we practiced a lot together ways that we can approach people better. It was so good.
Lørdag: We were still in Esbjerg in the morning and we played fodbold with their ward which was way fun! Then we took a train back to Horsens and we had this planned out exactly so we could get back to make it to an eating appointment with this amazing super postitive family. Well Satan of course tried to find a way to stop that from happening. Normally it takes 20 minutes to bike to their house, well in that time we had two flat tires and a chain fall off of our bikes. The elders came to save one of the tires but we ended up half walking, half biking on a flat tire to get there. When we arrived, we were sweaty, and our hands were covered in grease. They let us right in, let us wash up and then we had a delicious dinner and an incredibly powerful first lesson. The spirit was so strong. It was so worth it. This family was so incredible after we taught them the lesson they drove us so that we could make it to our next appointment. This was with a man who we had contacted on the street awhile ago. We had a really sweet member come with us and that was another really powerful, spiritual lesson. It was amazing. Our member who was with was so great, she shared scriptures that she had studied that morning and we just had a great discussion about faith and prayers.
Søndag: We had church which was really great, we had a return missionary from Odense give a talk and it was a way great talk about member missionary work and how important that is and how her mission helped strengthen her testimony and relationship with Christ. We stopped by a lot of really great people and found some exciting new friends!
It was a super great week!
